Animal Print

When asked to design the identity for Brooklyn’s new landmark gaybar ANIMAL (whose mission is to bring a higher quality nightlife experience to its clientele) I immediately pitched them additional ideas on how a “bar” could be more, behave bigger, service the community in a more meaningful way. One of the first ideas pitched was ANIMAL PRINT, a quarterly cross cultural magazine that, much like a bar, is a space where conversations are had and a (cross-generational) meeting of minds occurs. For the debut issue we had contributions ranging from an original piece from Pulitzer Prize winner Michael Cunningham, an never-before-scene series from famed photographer Stanley Stellar, and works from younger up-and-coming trans and queer artists.

The zine revolves around the connectedness in the community, so naturally ANIMAL brought the community together with a really incredible launch event. The question we got asked more than any other was “When is the next issue?” Affirming and just you wait.
