90% of Americans overpay for phone service. What a nightmare. TextNow, a free cellular service provider, sees a future where paying for your phone service is a thing of the past. We created the “Phone Smarter” campaign where we encouraged consumers to take another look at their phone bill and recognize it for the archaic, monster-from-the-past it truly is.

Overpaying for phone service is a nightmare. So naturally we launch the campaign with a film starring a deranged, 1980’s killer payphone.

The slasher spot followed unsuspecting users being stalked by this monster of a metaphor.

For social and OOH we kept the creepy theme alive in a more playful, brand-forward way employing tongue-in-cheek horror language and TextNow’s now signature, and very expressive “Chompy” mouth.

With TextNow the nightmare is over. But not for everyone…
